Trialling a new dawn pre-breakfast tour wasn’t a difficult task – we’ve always loved to get on the water and watch the sun creep over the tall eucalypt trees on the distant hills. There’s something very special about this time of day – it’s almost like you are entering into a secret world that belongs to the birds and the animals. Those just sneaking home after a night of foraging and those rising to greet the day.
We put the call out and had a small group of keen paddlers within a week – so glad we did this!
So when we put the call out on our Facebook page to see if anyone was keen for a tour that starts around 6:30am and finishes with a yummy light brekky by the water, we weren’t too surprised to book a tour almost immediately. A keen paddling couple who’d enjoyed a morning tour just after Christmas took up the chance to bring along a friend and help us to give it a test run.Pretty sure they didn’t regret it.
Late February, a bit of a cool and overcast morning and we really didn’t know what we’d be in for once the sun rose. But it was mild and so so still. And as the sun slowly peeped between the tops of the trees before gloriously lighting up the river and warming our backs on our trip home, the clouds took on a lovely soft pink colour, with the still calm water making for stunning reflections.
Muesli, berry compote, Tilba yoghurt and milk – with juice and plunge coffee. Add warm savoury muffins and we think we’ve got this sorted.
We’ll be offering this as a regular tour from early December this year – we just thought we’d tease you with the idea for now.
As autumn moves in, and the mornings get a little crisper, there is no better time than right now for a Lunch Tour – Book now and find out why everyone is talking about this beautiful place. Our award-winning tours are the talk of the town. Get amongst it. You won’t be disappointed.
